Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift: Price, Specifications and Features

Toyota has launched Corolla Altis facelift in India at an introductory price range of Rs. 15.88 lakh for the base petrol and it goes up to Rs. 19.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top trim. The base J variant has been discontinued and now it is available in four petrol and two diesel engines. The 2017 Corolla Altis comes with several updates on exteriors as well as inside the cabin. The sedan will face stiff competition from new Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Chevrolet Cruze in the Indian market.

Engine Details

Powering new Altis is the same set of engines i.e. 1.4l D4 Diesel and 1.8l Dual VVT petrol. The former delivers 87bhp power@3800rpm along with 205Nm of torque between 1800-2800rpm; it is linked with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.8l petrol is good enough to churn out 138bhp power@6400rpm and 173Nm of torque@4000rpm. This engine can be had in either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed Super CVT-i gearbox.

Space and Dimensions

The D segment sedan continues to 4620mm long, 1775mm wide and 1475mm tall. The five seater car sits on the wheelbase of 2700mm and offers a massive boot capacity of 470 liters.

The New Altis looks more upmarket as compared to the outgoing model thanks to sleeker front grille, new Bi-Beam LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The front is tweaked with wider air dams and integrated new fog lamps. Side profile is moreover same except for the new 16 inch alloy wheels while rear flaunts slightly revised bumper, new boot lid garnish and LED taillights.

Interiors receive dual tone theme, there’s new instrument cluster with soft touch dashboard, new side air con vents and new air con controls. It also gets first in segment reverse linked ORVM and rear reclining seats. As for the features, it comes with a 7 inch touchscreen system, premium fabric upholstery, three spoke leather wrapped steering wheel, 10 way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, 12V charging slots to name a few.

Colors

The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis is available in new Phantom brown color which joins the existing range of paint scheme of Silver Mica Metallic, Super White, Champagne Mica Metallic, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Mica Metallic, Grey Metallic and Celestial black.

Safety

Apart from rich features and plush interiors, new Altis has optimum safety tech as well. It has seven airbags, brake assist, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, hill start assist control, speed auto lock, clutch start system, reverse sensor, driver side adjustable seats, front fog lamps etc.
