To Cash in the fast growing SUV segment, each automaker is coming out with futuristic concepts. We have such great examples in recent times like Hyundai Creta, Mahindra TUV300 who set the benchmarks in their respective segments. India passenger vehicle’s ultimate king Maruti has also showcased Vitara Brezza SUV which will be launched in the country next month. At this year’s auto expo Tata showcased range of new cars including sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs.
Apart from Zica, Kite 5 and Hexa, Nexon compact SUV grabbed eye balls and made you look again and again. Tata showcased the Nexon as a concept in 2012 auto expo but finally we managed to witness the production ready Nexon SUV model. Once launched, it will take on Ford EcoSport, upcoming Vitara Brezza and Mahindra TUV300.
Tata Nexon SUV bears the large familiar Hexagonal grille finished in black color and houses Tata’s logo the centre alongside pair of gloss black projector headlamps with integrated turn blinkers and chrome underlining. The muscular bumper is embedded with pair of circular fog lamps encircled by dual shade colors.
The sides with upward shoulder line, flared wheel arches, 16” alloy wheels and contrast roof line gives it chunky yet compact stance. At rear the sloping roofline somewhat shrinks the window area while LED tail lights and contrast white color strip gives it the unique profile. The compact SUV will be available with range of customization options when launched.
The Tata Nexon would be making it way with a 1.5l Revotorq diesel engine producing 108.5bhp of max power and 1.2l four cylinder Revotron turbocharged petrol engine good for 90PS, linked to a manual or F-tronic AMT transmission.
Feature wise, the SUV might get a 6.5 inch touchscreen stand up display with voice control and satellite navigation, 8 speakers Harmon powered infotainment system for the enhanced audio experience, multi function steering wheel, low slung dual tone dashboard to enhance the flamboyant quotient, drive mode select knob, glove box release button etc.
