Tata Nano Twist XE launched at Rs. 2.06 lakh with Power Steering

Tata Nano gets a new base trim christened as Nano XE at Rs. 2.06 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and now Nano has only two variants one is XE and another is XT (top variant). This new Variant gets power steering as standard and it is around 37,000 cheaper than the XT variant. With this launch company discontinues the older variants CX and LX in order to boost sales for this new XE variant.

As it is a base variant of Nano so many of the features are deleted off from it like XE gets black color bumpers, door handles and ORVMs instead of body painted equipments of XT variant, front fascia of XE is deprived of chrome elements of XT. There are no front fog lamps in XE variant plus roof antenna and spoiler is also not a part of XE.

Apart from exterior, Nano XE Cabin also gets some feature cutting like its gets trendy seat upholstery but there is no option of premium beige fabric option which is available on XT variant. Dashboard of XE gets Ebony black shade, front seat headrests.

Some comfort and safety features also misses out on Nano XE like no remote less go entry for this variant, no front power windows, no central locking. Other features like 12V power socket, map pockets, premium seats, magazine holder, A/C with heater are some other features which are absent from Nano XE and there is no music system available on XE variant as standard.

Tata Nano is available in three colors only- Meteor Silver, Royal Gold and Serene White.

Dimensions remain same with 3099mm length, 1495mm wide, and 1652 height. Ground clearance of 180mm is more than enough to tackle the potholes and bumps of Indian roads.

Nano XE is powered to a same 624cc 2 cylinder petrol engine developing a mild 37.5bhp power@5500+/-250rpm and 51Nm of peak torque@4000+/-500rpm paired to a 4 speed manual transmission with the fuel efficiency of 25.35 km/l and attain the top speed of 105 km/hr.

Tata motors is also offering discount on Nano twist up to Rs. 41,000 including cash discounts and exchange bonuses. Tata Nano was launched in 2009 with a cheapest priced car in the world but with continuous hike in prices Tata seems to erase that image.

Tata will soon launch Nano twist active which might get more powerful and new 1.0L three cylinder petrol motor with five speed manual transmission or an AMT transmission with open able fifth door option (boot).
