Maruti launched Alto k10 more powerful version of Alto powered to a 1.0L k series engine and it is available in six variants including a CNG and AMT variant. K10 AMT variant is the least priced AMT variant in the world, so one could hope that Alto’s sales will keep going up in future as well.
In 2011 Maruti Suzuki Alto manages to tick over 3, 00,000 units and became the only car to surpass 3 lakh figure mark. 2.65 lakh units clearly suggest Alto demand is declining over the years but still it tops the chart. Absence of cars from Brazil might be the other reason due to which Alto 800 manages to achieve such numbers because Brazil is the world’s largest small car market. Volkswagen GOL which is the bestselling car for over 25 years in Brazil witnessed a dip in sales, in fact not even a single car from Brazil crosses 2 lakh mark in 2014.
