Mercedes India will launch new C Class on 25th November in India; Mercedes has recently launched its GLA series which is probably the most powerful SUV till date. New C class which is already on sale in Europe and United States from few months now which will replace the current ongoing model In India and will compete against Audi A4 and BMW 3 series. New C class is expected to price between Rs. 38-45 lakhs.
Mercedes C class will be available in petrol and diesel trims, but only the diesel variant will launched on 25th November, diesel will launched later part of this year or early next year. New C class will be made available C200 petrol, the 2.0L engine develops 184BHP power and 300Nm torque with rear wheel drive system and coupled with 7G Tronic AT gearbox.
The C220 CDI diesel variant will get the 2.2 L engine will deliver 170BHP power and 400Nm torque based on rear wheel drive and 7G tronic AT gearbox.
Mercedes might begin local productivity of C class during next year but there is no confirmed news yet. Extensive use of aluminum resulted in 100 kg weight shed than its current ongoing model. Apart from that there is change in the dimensions of new C class. New C class 95mm lengthier, height is down by 5 mm and boot space is increased by 5 liters. New dimensions of New C Class are 4686mm length, 1810mm wide and 1442mm height and boot space now stands on 480 liters. Wheelbase has been improved by 80mm which is now at 2840mm than old model.
We can expect some cosmetic and interior changes as well in new C Class like larger bonnet, new daytime running LED headlamps, downward door handles, twin slate grille, three point star design theme, Led tail lamps etc. Inside the cabin also we could see new dashboard, multi function steering wheel, new head up display etc.
Apart from that we can see some interesting features like Mercedes attention assist system, Pre-safe braking system, Air-Matic air suspension etc. First Batch of C Class will be imported as CBU and diesel variant as CKD unit which will launch during early part of next year.
