Festive season is now on full swing as Diwali is just few days away so car manufactures didn’t want to miss any opportunity to make the most of this situation. So remembering that in mind Toyota has launched Etios Liva’s refreshed version on 14th October 2014 along with Etios Sedan. Refreshed Etios Liva comes with same mechanical specification with some exterior and interior changes.
Price:
The revised or new Etios Liva Hatchback will cost you at Rs. 4.76-6.57 lakhs for the petrol variant and Rs. 5.94 lakh-6.95 lakh for the diesel variants.
Engine Details:
Etios Liva carries the same engine details like the current version, Liva launched in two engine option. The 1197cc DOHC EFI petrol engine is responsible to produce 78.9BHP power@5600rpm and 104nm torque@3100rpm, while 8V SOHC CRDI diesel engine delivers 67.1BHP power@3800rpm and 170Nm of peak torque@ 1800-2400rpm.
Both the engines are mated to five speed manual gearboxes, new Etios Liva returns 17.1KPL mileage for petrol trim and 23.59KPL of great mileage for diesel. New Etios has fuel capacity of 45 liters and turning radius of 4.8m.
Space & Dimensions:
New Etios Liva has seating capacity for 5 persons which is 3775mm long, 1695mm wide and 1510mm tall. Etios Liva falls behind in length from Swift and Ford Figo but carries best width among its competitors.
Wheelbase of 2460mm is second best among competitors just falling behind from Figo by 29mm. 170mm ground is good for our roads but 251 litre of Cargo volume is on the lesser side among the competitors.
Interior & Exterior:
Cabin carries new features like enhanced fabric upholstery, new 2 DIN music system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth support, all doors armrests are wooden finished. Dual tone dashboard looks elegant; steering wheel is covered with new cover. Gear knob and A/C vents are now chrome surrounded. Glove box has capacity to store 13L capacity; instrument panel has cool blue lighting with digital clock, headlamp buzzer and door ajar warning buzzer.
On the outside, Etios Liva gets some refinement like front grille is a redesigned one now with company’s logo entrenched at the center, Side have 12 spoke alloy wheels, body colored ORVM’s with turn indicators, chrome plus body painted door handles. Rear side is same like the previous version contains combo tail lights, centrally placed company’s logo and Etios Liva badging.
Colors:
Etios Liva marks its presence in seven graceful colors which are Symphony Silver, Classic grey, celestial black, white, Vermilion red, harmony beige and ultra marine blue.
Safety:
Etios Liva is similar to Etios Sedan in terms of Safety features it carries same features as Etios Sedan like Standardized Dual front air bags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors and side impact absorbing body structure.
Etios Liva also has following safety features like front fog lights, remote central locking, engine immobilizer, keyless entry, door ajar warning, child safety locks, seat belt warning system and traction control. Etios Liva now gets reverse parking sensors.
Verdict:
Etios Liva previous version was cursed for simple design and failing in fulfilling the overall satisfaction to the customers. Price is also on the higher side as the better alternatives are present. Performance wise it can’t even come close to cars like Swift and Grand i10. New Etios Liva has nothing new except the interior and some cosmetic changes.
