It seems Tata owned Jaguar Land Rover has a New Year gift for its fans as bestseller Range Rover Evoque gets another update. It is offered in Ember edition which was launched internationally earlier this year. Based on range topping HSE trim, 2017 Range Rover Evoque comes at an introductory price of Rs. 49.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the introduction of Ingenium 2.0l diesel engine, it becomes the first Land Rover in the Indian market to be powered by brand’s new engine family.
The bookings for new Range Rover Evoque can be made at all 23 authorized JLR dealerships across the country; in addition you can book it via the new online booking channel at www.findmeasuv.in. Currently, it is available with only a diesel engine but for those asking its petrol variant will be available by January 2017.
As mentioned before it is available with an all new 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel engine which develops max output of 177bhp and 430Nm of torque@1750rpm. The engine is linked to a 9-speed automatic transmission and sends power to all four wheels via 4WD system. The all new aluminium engine is 20kgs lighter and tuned to deliver better fuel efficiency. It is also equipped with Land Rover’s Terrain response system that allow driver to choose from given modes like Grass, Sand, Snow and rocks.
The changes are subtle but they make their impact on the overall presence of the model. 2017 iteration is the first JLR to features with full LED headlights while other changes include a larger air intakes with new front bumper and new front sills. The LED taillights have been upgraded along with prominent tailgate spoiler. Clean lines, flared wheel arches, cute stance and Santorini black with contrasting red tapered roof top add to the charm of new model.
The inside story is similar to previous version i.e. architectural shapes with straight lines while it gets new door cars, instrument cluster and redesigned seats. In terms of goodies, it gets a new 10 inch InControl Pro touchscreen system with 80 percent more pixels and 21:9 wide format, 825W Meridian sound system, head up display, gesture tail gate opening, Ebony Black’ colored seats with ‘Pimento Red’ stitching.
On the safety front, the 2017 model offers six airbags, surround camera system, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Attention Assist Estimation, Lane Keeping Assist, Terrain Progress Control, Automated hazard warning lights under heavy braking, advanced alarm system to name a few.
