It is seldom to see a brand launching two updated products in a single day but India’s largest car exporter Hyundai did it with 2017 iterations of Elite i20 and Creta SUV. Hyundai has introduced new Creta with similar platform to its hatchback sibling at an introductory price of Rs. 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Hyundai has managed to retail over 10,000 units of Creta in March 2017 which is a huge milestone. These new variants will surely going to make Creta even more popular and will widen its reach.

The new Hyundai E+ variant is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh making it the most affordable diesel Creta on sale in the country. It comes powered by a 1.4l turbocharged engine that makes 89bhp power and 220Nm of torque, linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It comes equipped with a 2 DIN audio system with AUX, USB and MP3, electrically adjustable ORVMs with LED turn blinkers, rear AC vents, dual front airbags and ABS. It misses out on touchscreen infotainment system, roof rails, steering mounted controls, sunglass holder etc.

On the contrary, the SX+ dual tone trim comes with an updated infotainment system with Apple car play, Android auto, Mirror link app and in-built Arkamys sound mood. The dual tone color is available in two combos- Red and black and white and black with Sporty black spoiler. It also gets all-black interior with red inserts and new 17 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The dual-tone SX+ Creta is priced at Rs 12.35 lakh for the petrol and Rs 13.88 lakh for the diesel (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In terms of powertrains, Creta remains unchanged and continues to draw power from the same engines- 1.4-litre CRDi (89bhp/220Nm), 1.6-litre CRDi VGT diesel (126/259Nm) and a 1.6-litre Dual VTVT engine (121bhp/151Nm).
