Hyundai has a new teaser of new Elantra, this time portraying the cabin of the vehicle. The company will be officially unveiling the 2016 Elantra at the next month’s Frankfurt auto show. A while ago, teaser sketches were revealed by Hyundai’s President and Chief design officer Mr. Peter Schreyer. While the teaser image is not crystal clear but it do show how the interiors has changed as compared to current GEN model.
We could say Hyundai is following the European design cues for the cabin of new Elantra, company has merely provided buttons inside and the central console is equipped with tablet shaped touch infotainment system. Right beneath the big screen there is a tiny screen which could be used for climate control.
The new dashboard looks simple with flowing lines and carries all black treatment with silver accents but for India where people love dual shade expect beige shade for the cabin. Going the by the image which shows steering wheel and gear knob along with big armrest between front seats.
Coming to the exterior profile which looks more grown up thanks to a new Trapezoidal grille, big air dams with L shaped LED fog lamps, sweptback projector headlamps with daytime running lights. The sloping roofline gives side profile a coupe like styling complimented with flared wheel arches and sharper creases. At rear, it gets Elite i20 inspired tail lamps with more flavor of LED.
Under the hood it might get a 1.6L G-TDI engine which is good enough to generate 173bhp of max power, mated to a seven speed dual clutch gearbox. The new Elantra is expected to go on sale in Korea by last quarter of this year while expect it to reach Indian shores by early 2016.
