Volkswagen has updated the Vento once again, eight months after giving the executive sedan its first facelift. The Vento did get an update in late 2014 but it still looked the extended version of Polo hatchback but after the recent update it look relatively different from previous generation models. Volkswagen has been testing the new Vento for a while and now the company has revealed the new car which is expected to be launched soon.
The 2015 Vento comes with host of cosmetic changes and interior add-ons to add premium feel to c-segment sedan. Front end of new Vento is thoroughly revised, it features three slat chrome Passat like grille, revised bonnet with two neat character lines, new headlamps unit with smoked effect. The Front bumper is also redesigned with chrome surround and new fog lamps with integrated cornering lights.
The door handles get some chrome treatment and alloy wheels have been of new design while the rear side gets loads of chrome element like on boot lid, rear bumper and tail pipes. The reworked Tail lights looks premium and get LED effect and boot can now be opened externally with boot lid button. Overall the new Vento now looks richer, classy and premium thanks to the new updates.
Coming to the interiors, the overall look of the cabin has been retained like silver detailing around the central console and AC vents, flat bottom steering wheel with controls etc. New Vento you’ll get lighter color scheme and some more features like Cruise control, auto folding mirrors, cooled glove box, external boot release etc.
Mechanically, New Vento remains same and continues to be powered by with 1.2L and 1.6L petrol engines and 1.5L diesel engines. The Transmission on offer is a 5-speed manual and a 7 speed DSG gearbox.
Volkswagen hasn’t announced a launch of new Vento but we expect it to launch soon. Volkswagen competes in the C segment with segment leader Honda City, feature king Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna which all are selling in good numbers. So, in order to keep up the pace with the competitors Volkswagen has given Vento its second update in short span to make its presence felt in the market.
Volkswagen is also working on compact sedan based on Polo hatchback and it will be launching 5 new models in next 24 months in the country.
