As we reported earlier that the Swift facelift will launch on November 2014 so for that Maruti Suzuki has started taking bookings for the sum of Rs. 10,000 through Maruti dealers across the country. Swift has been a highest selling hatchback in the country and most successful car for the Maruti Suzuki.
New Swift will not carry any mechanical change; it will continue to offer same engines which are 1.2L K series petrol engine which is responsible to produce 86BHP power@6200rpm and 114Nm torque@4000rpm, while 1.3L DDis diesel engine produces 74BHp power@4000rpm and 190Nm torque@2000rpm. Fuel efficiency of Swift facelift to get better by some percentage but could it be more than Ciaz? There is no official confirmation for that yet. Apart from the improved fuel efficiency petrol version could get an automatic gearbox option as well like Swift Dzire.
Swift Facelift will witness some changes in exterior and interior like Outer appearance of top variants of Swift will get retouched in the form of L shaped LED daytime running lights, redesigned front bumper, chrome surrounded fog lamps and new set of alloy wheels. Side and rear of Swift facelift to remain same like ongoing model.
On the inside, there will be driver seat height adjustment system, engine start stop button, electrically folded ORVM’s function and steering mounted controls.
From safety point of view Swift facelift will have host of features like ABS, EBD, front and side airbags, keyless entry, Electronic stability program and reverse parking sensors etc.
Swift facelift will take on Hyundai Elite i20, upcoming Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo, Price of Swift facelift will also be on higher side than the current ongoing model, the expected price of new Swift to remain between 4.5-7 lakh and two new variants are also on the cards I.e. Zxi and ZDi+.
