Volkswagen introduces Crest limited editions of Polo, Ameo and Vento

Volkswagen Crest Special Editions

Volkswagen India has announced the launch of Crest special editions of Vento, polo and recently launched Ameo compact sedan. According to VW, Crest collection is for those who are looking for something more from their vehicles. Besides, the brand has also announced a unique scheme ‘Buy today, Pay attractive EMI from 2018’. It is that time when car makers hope to sell in good numbers but demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 denomination has adversely affected the Indian automotive industry in a bad manner.

Volkswagen’s new initiative could well be the unique way to curb demonetization effect. Since the announcement, luxury car segment has been the worst sufferer. Some cities in India have not registered even a single booking for a luxury car in the month of November.

Now speaking about the new Crest editions, it is available with all the variants of Ameo, Comfortline and highline trim of Polo and Highline grade of Vento. Changes on offer include white paint scheme with contrast black roof top, stylish side foil, door step garnish, door step garnish, Crest badge on C-pillar, black roof spoiler and glossy black trunk garnish. The last two features are available only with Polo hatchback.

Updates on offer inside cabin front armrest with storage space, detachable sunroof blinds, beige seat covers with Wolfsburg crest embossed and diamond stitching, new flooring mats. Besides they carry forward the features of their standard models.

Under the hood there is no change, Polo and Ameo continues to get 1.2l MPi and 1.5l TDI engines linked with 5-speed manual as standard and 7-speed DSG for Ameo diesel. Vento crest draws power from a 1.6l MPi, 1.2l TDi and 1.5l TDI (updated) engines linked with 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The limited edition models are available at monthly EMIs of Rs. 10,999 for Polo, Rs. 14,999 for Vento and Rs. 11,999 for Ameo compact sedan. The additional package cost Rs. 15,000 for Polo over the standard variants, Rs. 3000 for Vento while Ameo Trendline and Highline is priced at Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 21,000 on the Ameo highline variant.
