Continuing with the launch spree of blockbuster Kwid’s new trims; after making debut at 2016 Auto Expo, the two pedal variant has been finally launched in India. The AMT is offered with top spec RXT trim and priced at Rs. 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes AMT variant Rs. 29,000 costlier than its manual variant.

The Renault Kwid utilizes the 5-speed Easy R AMT which is clubbed with a 1.0 litre SCe petrol motor that churns out 67bhp power@5500rpm and 91Nm of torque. It offers an ARAI rated mileage of 24.01 Kmpl which is more than manual trim 23.01 Kmpl. Instead of conventional gear lever, the car comes with a circular knob which is placed on the central dashboard. The Knob offers three modes- R, N and D in which R stands for Reverse, N is for neutral and D is for Drive. Also, there is no option for shifting gears manually.

In terms of design, Kwid AMT looks identical to manual counterpart albeit Easy R-AMT badge at rear. It continues to get the SUV-ish styling, dual tone front bumpers, high ground clearance, stylish front grille flanked by side body cladding to further highlight design of the car.
