Nissan Terrano AMT teaser released ahead of its official launch

Nissan Terrano AMT Teaser

Brand Nissan has taken a back seat as the brand is trying to establish its low cost brand Datsun in the Indian market. The company has recently introduced automatic transmission with Micra hatchback and now reportedly working on introducing automatic gearbox on Terrano SUV. Now to create buzz the brand has released a fresh teaser video of the upcoming Terrano AMT variant across various social media platforms.

The teaser video bears a brief description of Give that left leg a rest and want to change the way you shift. The new variant is likely to launch by late October 2016 while it will reach at dealership level by the end of next week or so. The Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster are like sisters from another mother as both are similar underneath and developed under the alliance of Renault and Nissan. The idea of automatic gearbox is quite evident as consumers are shifting towards stress free driving and falling in love with the AMT or ATs.

The Nissan Terrano is likely to get ZF sourced 6-speed Easy R-AMT that was launched in Renault Duster in March this year. The AMT unit will be linked to a 1.5 litre k9K diesel engine that delivers 109bhp power and 245Nm of torque and offers 19.1 Kmpl of mileage. Terrano is also available with a 1.6 liter petrol mill that generates 102bhp and 148Nm of torque linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Duster has received AWD variant, however it is unlikely that Terrano will have the same treatment; it will continue to available with 2WD only. The Duster AMT is offered in two variant RXL priced at 11.76 lakh and RXZ which is available for Rs. 12.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect Nissan Terrano AMT to be priced similarly; around the Rs. 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top spec version.
