To commemorate the fifth anniversary of Micra, Nissan India today has launched the limited edition of the hatchback dubbed as Micra X-shift. This limited edition is priced at Rs. 6.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and it is limited only to 750 units.

On the outside, the limited edition gets a matte blackened roof, graphics on the doors with X-shift stickers on either side, exhaust tip with chrome detailing and black side decals. The limited edition is available in Brick red, Storm white and blade silver shades. Get inside and you will be treated with LED scuff plates, a new multi-function steering wheel from Nissan Sunny, brand new floor mats and arm rests are finished in silver and illuminated door sills. In addition you to continue to enjoy music on 2 DIN audio system with Aux-in and USB connectivity.

In safety department it gets ABS, EBD, four airbags, brake assist and reverse parking sensors as standard features at no extra cost.

Powering the Nissan Micra X-shift edition is a same 1.2L three cylinder petrol engine which churns out 76PS power@6000rpm and 104Nm of peak torque@4000rpm. The limited edition comes coupled with a CVT automatic transmission which can be adjusted in three modes-Sport, regular and low. According to Nissan, the limited edition is more fuel efficient than standard variants as it returns 19.34 KMPL of ARAI certified mileage.

Along with the limited edition, Nissan has also revealed the XL CVT variant that comes with all the features and equipments of XL trim except for a manual transmission; it is paired to a CVT gearbox. The XL CVT variant is priced at Rs. 6.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Currently, XV variant is variant is equipped with a CVT that would cost you at Rs. 6.93 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) which is around 60K dearer than the XL CVT.

By launching Micra’s base variant with a CVT gearbox, Nissan wants to capitalize the potential and popularity of automatic gearbox in India. The Japanese automaker aims to attract more customers by offering auto gearbox for a competitive price.
