News on launch of Volvo S80 2014 – Price, Specifications and Features

Volvo launched the next-gen version of its luxury sedan S80 at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi India on 19th March 2014. The Swedish car maker has done some renovations in this facelift model including modified inside cabin as well as refined glimpse. The next-gen S80 also gets price hike as per its variants.

Price:

This facelift Volvo S80 gets two diesel variants namely D4 and D5. The price tags of S80 D4 and S80 D5 are 41.35 lakhs and 44.80 lakhs, respectively.

Engine details:

The facelift S80 will continue with only diesel trim like its sibling while petrol unit is missing. The S80 D4 is powered by a 1984cc, 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine responsible to develop the max power of 163bhp and peak torque of 400Nm.

On the contrary, the top variant D5 gets a 2400cc, 5-cylinder turbo diesel good to churn out the max power and peak torque of 215bhp and 440Nm, respectively. Both the fuel units are geared up with a 6-speed automatic transmission which provides this luxury model a balanced and smooth handling on road.

The fuel economy of Volvo S80’s top variant D5 is 13.1 km/l while the base D4 offers the similar fuel consumption of 16.6 km/l like the predecessor.

Space & Dimension:

No changes have been done in its measurements. It still is 4854mm long, 1861mm wide and 1493mm tall and carries the wonderful wheelbase of 2835mm, clear height of 151mm and amazing boot space of 480 liters. Like every other sedan models, it also offers seating capacity for five passengers.

Interior & Exterior:

Its outside glimpse has been refreshed and now carrying an all-new integrated tailpipes, headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRL), modified wider grille, refined bumpers with fog lamps, redesigned wheels etc giving the luxury sedan a striking road presence.

At inside the cabin, a new digital instrument cluster based on the theme of TFT (Thin Film Transistor) in which users can choose any one theme (as per their choice) from 3 graphic display themes, Elegance, ECO and Performance.

Other comfort as well as safety features like gear shift paddles, dual zoned climate control, airbags, ABS and cruise control etc are making their well presence in this facelift luxury Volvo sedan S80.
