Renault India has launched its multi-purpose vehicle ‘Lodgy’ in the country at an introductory price of 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Renault has already established itself as one of the major automobile brand in India and now has lakhs of satisfied customers. Renault India wants to cash in the MPV segment in the country with Lodgy MPV. The CEO of Renault India has also stated that “After Lodgy we will also launch sub-Rs 4 lakh small car soon and it will be a global product.”
Renault India has launched 7 variants of Lodgy christened as 85 PS STD, 85 PS RXE, 85 PS RXL, 110 PS RXL, 85 PS RXZ, 110 PS RXZ 8STR and 110 PS RXZ 7 STR with the price of 8.19 lakh, 8.99 lakh, 9.59 lakh, 10.09 lakh, 10.89 lakh, 11.49 lakh and 11.79 lakh respectively.
Renault Lodgy also comes with a 5 year or 1, 00,000 Kms company warranty which surely minimizes the ownership cost of the buyer.
Renault Lodgy is powered by a handsome 1.5 liter K9K diesel-engine offered in two states of tunes-One offering 84bhp [email protected] and 200Nm [email protected] The 84bhp versions get paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and deliver 21.04 KMPL mileage.
The other one churns out 108.5bhp of maximum [email protected] and 245Nm of peak [email protected] This 108.5bhp version is linked with a 6-speed manual unit and delivers fuel efficiency of 19.98 KMPL (ARAI certified). However, there is no petrol engine in the offering now.
Space and Dimensions:
Renault Lodgy’s key highlight is evidently its spacious cabin which will make you feel comfortable as compared to other MPVs in the segment. Lodgy will be available in both 7 and 8 seating configurations.
Renault Lodgy is 4498mm long, 1751mm wide and 1697mm high and its rides on the wheelbase of 2810 mm which more than segment leader Toyota Innova. Lodgy’s boot space stands on 207 liters even after three rows intact which is further expandable to 1861 liters after third and second row folded.
Exterior and Interior:
Apart from spacious cabin Lodgy is gifted with pleasant interiors and raft of features based on the same platform as Duster. The top variants of Lodgy to get cruise control with speed limiter, 7” touchscreen infotainment system, rear view camera, satellite navigation, A/C vents for 2nd and 3rd rows, foldable trays for 2nd row and 12V power sockets for all three rows, 8-way adjustable driver seat, leather wrapped steering wheel with tilt function and mounted controls.
The dashboard of Lodgy is inspired by Duster with beige and grey scheme and piano black finish at the centre console.
The basic silhouette of Lodgy is Boxy praised by twin slate front grille, bold swept back headlamps, chrome finish round fog lamps, radiator front air dam and blackened section at lower bumper. Side profile gets 15 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels, adjustable body colored ORVMs, side molding with chrome accents. Rear side is dominated by large tail lights, hexagonal rear windscreen and thick chrome line with Lodgy embedded on it.
Renault is offering Lodgy in many lovely color options like Pearl white, Royal orchid, Planet Grey, Moonlight silver and indigo breeze.
Renault always equipped their vehicles with plenty of safety features and Lodgy is also blessed with many such features like dual Front Airbags, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) with Break Assist, central locking, speed sensing door lock, cruise control, rear view camera, parking sensors, rear defoggers etc.
Renault India has lots of expectations from Lodgy and as per its price, features and dimensions we can say that Lodgy looks like an ideal Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) at least on paper which might give cut throat competition to Innova, Mobilio and Ertiga.
