Mahindra has launched refresh version of its MPV Xylo to increase its sales and to remain competitive in MPV segment. Refreshed Xylo comes with some mechanical and subtle exterior changes. The competition becomes very stiff with launch of Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga so Mahindra decided to throw the Dice in the form of Xylo refresh. Let’s see what’s so refreshing about the New Xylo.

Price:

Refreshed Xylo has been priced between 7.52 lakhs to 10.3 lakhs; base variant of refreshed Xylo D2 Maxx is at Rs. 7.52 lakh and top variant of refreshed Xylo H9 which is priced at Rs. 10.93 lakhs.

Engine Details:

New Mahindra refreshed Xylo’s base variants D2 and D4 carries 2.5L mDi CRDe engine developing 93.5BHP power @3600rpm and 218nm torque@1400-2600rpm which is mated with 5 Speed manual transmission (5MT 320).

The other three variants H4, H8 and H9 is powered by same 2.2L mhawk turbo diesel engine which produces 118.4BHP power@4000rpm and 280nm of peak torque@2400-2800rpm supported by five speed manual transmission.

Refreshed Mahindra Xylo delivers 14.9 highway mileage and 11.4 city mileage and accelerates 0-100 km in 14 sec with the top speed of 156 km/hr.

Space & dimensions:

Refreshed Xylo is heavily built with dimensions of 4520mm in length, 1850mm wide and 1895mm tall. Ground clearance for base variants D2 and D4 is at 160mm but for other three variants it is at 186mm and it carries wheelbase of 2760mm

Xylo MPV offers seating capacity in the form of 9/7 seater side facing, 8 seater front facing and 7 seater front facing with captain seats and third row comes with 60:40 spilt option.

Interior and Exterior:

On the inside Xylo’s cabin is now two tone black beige theme with dark grey fake wood inserts all around the cabin, seat upholstery gets premium and classy, dashboard is also equipped with three dial information cluster. On the entertainment front Double DIN audio system which has features like bluetooth and voice commands. Steering mounted controls with buttons like cruise control and audio controls.

On the outside refreshed Xylo gets chrome touch at front and rear license plate of the car, side of the car gets body graphics, redesigned alloy wheels, colored ORVM’s and MPV’s top gets new roof rails. Overall design now looks more elegant and beautiful.

Colors:

Mahindra’s refreshed Xylo making its presence in six elegant colors- Diamond White, Dolphin Grey, Java Brown, Toreador Red, Fiery Black and Mist Silver.

Safety:

Xylo refresh version has quite a bit safety features like ABS with EBD, rear parking camera with display assistance, dual airbags, halogen headlamps, engine immobilizer, cruise control, central locking with keyless entry and power windows. Besides all these features Xylo’s heavy body roll plays an important safety roll.

Verdict:

Xylo has been successfully car for Mahindra and add-ons in new Xylo will spice the competition in the segment. With the festival season around the corner, refresh Xylo might prove worthy for Mahindra in terms of Sales achievement. Overall refreshed Xylo looks good but its heavy body roll and below par fuel efficiency hampers the cause, where as competitive price range, good spacious cabin and better engine performance goes with new Xylo.
