After months of promotion and teasing, Ford India has finally launched its flagship SUV- Endeavour starting at Rs. 24.75 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The third GEN Endeavour is available with two trim levels- Trend and Titanium and boasts of range of cosmetic changes along with two diesel engines and all wheel drive option. The rugged SUV is based on Ford ranger truck platform and will like against Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Price:

The new Ford Endeavour starts at Rs. 24.75 lakh for the base trend trim while the same with AT gearbox cost at Rs. 25.53 lakh. The 3.2L AWD trend variant is available for Rs. 27.78 lakh and the top end Titanium variant priced at Rs. 29.46 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Engine Details:

For Indian market, the SUV is offered with two diesel engine choices- first is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that belts out 158bhp of power@3200rpm and 385Nm of high torque between 1600-2500rpm, paired to a six speed manual and six speed automatic gearbox. The other engine is a bigger 3.2l oil burner that delivers 298bhp@3000rpm and 470Nm of torque between 1750-2500rpm, available with a six speed automatic gearbox only.

Both the engines are available with a two wheel and all wheel drive configurations. In terms of fuel efficiency it delivers 12.62km/l for the 2.2-litre AT and 14.12km/l for the manual trim. The 3.2-litre produces an ARAI certified mileage of 10.91km/l.

Space and Dimensions:

The new SUV gets a seven-seat layout with 2nd row getting the reclining and sliding function while last low cane folded down with a touch of button for extending the boot space from 450 liters to enormous 2010 liters. The new SUV is 4893mm long, 1862mm wide and 1836mm tall and carries a wheelbase of 2850mm. The ground clearance stands at 225 mm and has a wading depth of 800mm.

Exterior and Interior:

As said earlier, it is based on ranger pickup truck platform which made the new Endeavour more urban and butch featuring automatic headlamps with LED DRLs and HID lights, muscular bumpers with scuff plates, three-slat chrome grille with Ford’s logo at the centre, jet wash, Panoramic sunroof, 18 inch alloy wheels. At rear, it bears wraparound LED tail lamps, a thick chrome bar with Endeavour graving on it runs across the tailgate.

Like exterior, interior too gets Midas touch with high quality interiors and host of features such as Ford SYNC infotainment system with active noise cancellation and 10 speakers, leather seat upholstery, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, dual zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, adjustable speed limiter and much more.

Colors:

The 2016 Endeavour graces in six new color shades-Sunset Red, Golden Bronze, Diamond white, Panther black, Moondust silver and Smoke grey.

Safety:

The new model is leap ahead as compared to its predecessor in the safety department as it loaded with features like Ford’ Terrain management system, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electric brake force distribution), traction control and seven airbags include front, side, curtain and knee airbag.

To make off road easier it also include electronic locking differential, engine immobilizer, hill launch assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, semi-auto parking assist, seat belt pre-tensioners; Ford My key, emergency assistance, burglar alarm etc.
