The cost effective brand, Datsun in order to expand its lineup in India has launched its first MPV Datsun Go+ on 15th January 2015 which is an extended version of Datsun go hatchback. Datsun Go+ MPV is first compact MPV under sub-4 meter segment. This new born brand Datsun which made its India debut with joint venture with Nissan by launching its first ever model in hatchback category named as Datsun GO last year. This hatch has already created a lot of buzz in Indian car market due to its affordable price range and we expect Datsun Go+ to do the same for the carmaker. Datsun launches Go+ MPV in what we can say a surprising initial price range of Rs. 3.79 lakh for base D variant which goes up to Rs. 4.61 lakh for the top T variant. Its chief rivals Ertiga and Mobilio costs over 5 lakh for its base variant So Datsun has played a trump card in the pricing section.
Datsun Go plus is available in four variants (D, D1, A, T) but with only one engine option i.e. Petrol. Under the hood, the stretched version of hatchback-GO gets the same engine like its sibling. This MPV GO is powered to a 1.2 liter 3-cylinder petrol engine which is responsible to develop the max power of [email protected] and 104Nm of peak [email protected] The engine will gear-up with same 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. Though, as per the size of this new car, this engine seems small. Datsun Go plus MPV to offer the ARAI claimed mileage of 20.62 km/l.
Space & Dimension:
Being a MPV model, it obviously will be of longer length but surprisingly it is less than 4 metres, its length is 3995mm; width is about 1635mm and height is 1485mm. The wheelbase is very decent one which is of 2450mm and 170mm of ground clearance is good to absorb potholes. With rear seats folded its boot space of 48 liters can be increased to 347 liters and comes with 2+3+2 seating configuration.
Datsun is offering Go plus MPV in 5 elegant colors– Ruby Red, Gold, White, Silver and Grey.
Interior & Exterior:
Datsun has made this new MPV equipped with all those entire features which marked their presence in its hatchback GO and some additional also. The MPV features mobile docket system, Manual A/C, rear blower, front power windows, power steering, AUX-in and USB connection for Mobile phone charging.
Apart from these features Datsun Go plus top variant sports heater+blower, speed sensitive power steering, 12V socket and various instrument gauges like digital tachometer, distance to empty, trip meter, low fuel warning, silver finished A/C vents, Jacquard fabric upholstery, integrated headrests, door map pockets etc.
On the outside Datsun go plus looks almost identical to its hatchback sibling from hexagonal front grille to headlamps, side creases, body color door handles, high mounted stop lamp, bumper etc. the only thing which differentiate Go plus MPV from Go hatchback is the size and length of Go plus MPV.
Apart from these exterior and interior you can customize your Go plus with various accessory packs which includes makeover of the cabin and cosmetic changes as well.
In the safety department Datsun go Plus top variant gets driver side airbag, 3 point ELR front seat belts, child lock, engine immobilizer and Central lock (manual). No ABS even as an optional equipment surprises us.
Datsun brand certainly produces cost effective and affordable cars and Go plus follows the same path. Datsun go price ends where the base of even premium hatchback starts and big thumps up for Datsun in this department. If you are looking for just a car with basic cabin, no long list of features and with no safety features then go plus is just made for you.
