Honda Car India will launch much-awaited New Jazz in the country around June-July, 2015. Earlier it was expected to launch in the first quarter of 2015 but the production constraints at its plants delayed the launch. There have been a lot of rumors regarding the re-launch of Jazz in India once discontinued in 2013. Now a report suggests that the premium hatchback will be offered in both Manual and CVT transmissions.

The previous GEN model didn’t shine due to higher price range but this model is expected to price competitively since the localization levels are high around 90 percent. New Honda Jazz will come with two sets of engines- 1.2L Petrol and 1.5L diesel.

The 1.2L i-Vtec Petrol engine is taken over from Amaze and brio that produces 87bhp power and 109Nm torque and will be paired to a manual and CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. While the 1.5L i-Dtec diesel is carried over from Honda City that develops 98bhp power and 200NM torque, will come with a 5-speed manual transmission.

In Honda City reaction CVT slows down at lower speeds but in Jazz Honda added a converter in the gearbox that keep sending torque to car at lower speeds which improves its responsiveness.

Honda Jazz aka Fit in international markets is global blockbuster for Honda due to its design, cabin space, features and efficiency. In India all these points does matter as well and will ensure a good acceptance.

On design front, new Jazz shares most of the design cues of City like a bold front grille that mingles to the large hawk eye shaped headlights looks bold and aggressive. Two parallel creases on Bonnet make it sportier with large air dam. Sides of the car get strong line and rear side has extended tail lights.

New Honda Jazz is likely to come with long list of features like automatic air control, touchscreen unit, multi-function steering wheel, reversing paring camera and many more. Due to the very high localization new Honda will be able to price it competitively so expect it to be priced around Rs. 5.5-7 lakh (Ex-showroom) and competition would come from Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo and Upcoming Maruti YRA hatchback.
