Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car maker is all set to achieve record sales in 2014 at over 11.48 lakh units outdoing its previous best in 2010 which was at 10.6 lakh units. This achievement is a result of growth across all the segments which result an augmentation of Maruti’s market share by 4.1 percent to 44.8 in April-November period, during that period Maruti sold 8,35,912 units against 7,39,247 units last year upping its total sales by 13.1 percent.

“We are going to see our highest ever sales in a calendar year in 2014. We are going to touch around 11.48 lakh units during the year,” said by Chairman R C Bhargava Maruti Suzuki India (MSI).

Highlighting on the company’s impressive sales growth despite the industry still struggling, MSI Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) R S Kalsi said: “All our models have shown growth during the year. In comparison to other companies we have been able to achieve growth by introducing new models.”

While rural markets continued to grow, urban markets have also returned to growth path after witnessing stagnation in the last couple of years, he added.

Maruti is probably the only consistent car manufacturer whose 5 cars remain in the top 10 cars of the month for the most of the 2014. This cumulative figure only includes sales data for first 11 months with still 1 month left i.e. December, so these figures will further go up.

2015 might prove to be more fruitful for India’s largest car manufacture as it is planning to launch 8 new cars in the market which includes SX4 S-cross which will launch in the first quarter of 2015, YRA hatchback, Dzire facelift etc.
