Mahindra e2o Plus

Mahindra’s electric mobility division, Mahindra Electric has been aggressive with its strategy regarding its eco friendly cars portfolio. After e-Verito, the apex SUV maker in India Mahindra has launched the four door version of e2o called e2o plus, in the price range Rs. 5.46 lakh-Rs. 8.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The electric hatchback also enjoys the subsidy under Government of India under the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric) initiative. The new variant is not only bigger but also packs new features, mechanical changes and more practical. Here is the flashing light on the specifications and equipments of Mahindra e2o Plus.

Price:

Mahindra e2o Plus is available on four variants- P2 (commercial only), P4, P6 and P8 and it is probably the only electric hatchback which falls in the premium segment thanks to its sky rocketing pricing of Rs. 5.46 lakh-8.46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine Details:

Being an electric car, the e2o plus gets a 3 phase AC induction motor and 72V battery which develops 40bhp@3500rpm and 91Nm of torque@1000rpm in the top ranging P8 variant. The battery has increased the driving range to 140km/hr and speaking of its performance e2o plus can perform 0-60km/hr sprint in just 9.5 seconds. The 210ah battery in P8 trim takes 9 hours for full charge via regular 3W charger. For fast charging, it also comes bundled with 10Kw charger which takes only 90 minutes for 95 percent charging.

In P2, P4 and P6 trims the same 210ah battery develops 25bhp power@3500rpm and 70Nm torque@1000rpm. This motor is capable of accelerating 0-60 km/hr in 14.1 seconds before hitting the top speed of 80km/hr. Charging can be done in just 6 hours via a 3 KW charger and fast charge can be achieved in just 75 minutes (95 percent) via 10Kw charger. Both the engines are clubbed with a two speed direct drive eCVT automatic gearbox.

Space and Dimensions:

The new four door model is longer by 310mm, wider by 61mm and 25mm tall with new dimensions are 3590mm in length, 1575mm in width and 1585mm in height. The wheelbase has been increased by 300mm to 2258mm which translates into premium space inside and makes it a spacious electric hatchback. It now offers 135 liters of boot space and sits of 170mm of ground clearance.

Colors:

The four door version is available in four colors-Sparkling wine, arctic silver, solid white and coral blue.

Exterior and Interior:

The electric hatchback comes with styling changes like Mahindra’s familiar front grille with vertical slats flanked by swept back projector headlights with integrated indicators and new front bumper. At side, it sports 14 inch alloy wheels, new glasshouse with unique kink in the window line to accommodate four doors and extended C-pillars. White at rear, it gets vertically stacked Tail lamps and roof mounted spoiler.

On the equipment front, it sports all four power windows, Blaupunkt infotainment system with Smartphone integration, navigation system, climate control and on board trip computer that assist you about car’s driving range. Other noticeable features on board are all digital instrument cluster, reverse parking camera, instant torque, hill assist, regenerative braking, dual beige cabin with fabric upholstery, keyless entry and go etc. There’s a remote app which lets you control number of things such as locking/unlocking of car, air conditioning control and much more. The carmaker has also provided revive (SOS) feature which gives you an additional 7-10 km runs in case car’s battery dip below 10 percent.
