In the verge to cash in the booming the compact aka sub 4m segment and revamp the Bolero brand in India, Mahindra has launched new Bolero Power+. The base SLE variant have been retailed at Rs. 6.86 lakhs while the top trim costs you back at Rs. 7.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is brand’s fourth launch of this year after Micro SUV KUV100, TUV300 and NuvoSport. The Bolero power+ comes with a new 1.5 litre mhawk diesel engine which claims to deliver 13 percent more power and 5 percent more mileage as compared to previous gen Bolero.

Engine Details:

Mahindra has offered a new 1.5 l mhawk D70 diesel engine which develops 70bhp@3800rpm power and 195Nm of torque between 1400-2200rpm. The engine is matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox and helps it return a better mileage of 16.5 Kmpl as compared to 15.96 Kmpl on standard variant. The range topping ZLX variant comes with a Micro Hybrid system which basically shuts down the engine when idle to save fuel.

Space and Dimensions:

This new version is gets shorter length and falls under sub 4m category, Bolero Power+ measures 3995m in length, 1745mm in width and 1880mm in height and rides on the wheelbase of 2680mm. Braking is taken care by front disc and rear drum brakes.

Exterior and Interior:

The SUV design in terms of exterior and interior remains untouched; in terms of changes it gets new driver instrument system with digital display and voice messaging system. Other features include Keyless entry, central locking, all four power windows, 12V charging point, remote fuel lid opener, rear wash and wiper and engine immobilizer. The interiors well compliments exterior with dual tone color theme and comparatively well cushioned seats.

Colors:

The new Mahindra Bolero Power+ comes in four exterior shades- Rocky beige, Mist Silver, Diamond white and Java brown.   

This is a much needed change in Bolero which has been lately losing market share but with more power and fuel economy it is expected to attract wide range of audiences. Mahindra is also offering 3 years/1 lakh Kms warranty with the compact SUV which certainly adds to its advantage.
