Ford Mustang – Price, Mileage, Specifications and Features

This is the moment we all have been waiting for; Ford has finally pulled the covers off the Pony Supercar, the Mustang. The iconic car unleashes the Indian roads at Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be brought as CBU unit in top spec avatar. Bookings are open in select dealerships in Delhi and Mumbai for now while the deliveries could take some time.

Ever since reports emerged regarding the announcement of the right hand version (RHD) of this fastback, we all are eagerly waiting for the launch. And finally Ford has answered the prayers of enthusiast by launching much awaited Mustang India. It took 52 long years for Ford to bring this iconic car to India since its launch in 1964. Internationally, it is available in Convertible and Fastback model but for India Mustang gets only Fastback version.

Price:

The Mustang is available in single variant only priced at Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the car has slight heavy price bracket as it comes via CBU route.

Engine Details:

In international markets, Mustang is available in 2.3 liter and 3.7 liter V6 petrol engine while for India which is one of the most important markets for Ford so it brings Mustang with the powerhouse engine. Under the hood of GT fastback is a 5.0 litre Ti-VCT V8 Petrol engine that belts superb out of 401PS and 515Nm of peak torque, matched with a 6-speed select shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

In its fifth generation, the Mustang offers four driving modes- Normal, Snow/wet, track and Sport which adjusts transmission and steering response to suit the conditions. The engine endows car to scant to 100km/hr from a standstill in just 4.5 seconds with the top speed of 250km/hr.

Space and Dimensions:

The four seating fastback measures 4784mm in length, 2080mm in width and 1391mm in height. It rides on the wheelbase of 2720mm and offers ground clearance of 137mm.

Colors:

The Mustang graces in 6 colors which are race red, absolute black, Ingot Silver, triple yellow tricoat, oxford white and magnetic grey.

Exterior and Interior:

Coming to the design, the car continues to uphold the balance between modernity and yesteryear classiness. The highlights include long bonnet, HID headlamps with LED DRLs, classic front grille with untamed horse emblem; 19 inch aluminium alloy wheels show its real DNA. The short tail section bearing clear Lens tri bar LED tail lamps, swooping roofline, carved fenders and GT badge at the centre of the glossy black panel at rear which makes it looks a sheer stunning vehicle.

The real beauty lies in its design but it also features some advanced gadgetry such as SYNC 2 LCD 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with bluetooth and voice control, a 9 speaker audio system with amplifier and 4.2 inch multi information display with trip computer.

You also get dual zone automatic climate control, cooled and heated front seats, six way adjustable driver seat, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, auto dimming mirrors, ambient lighting, bucket seats, adaptive cruise control, rain sensing wipers, 4-way adjustable front headrests, split fold second row seats etc. It is also equipped with GT performance package which sports Torsen differential with 3.73 Axle ratio and Brembo brakes a standard.

Safety:

The Safety element include six airbags including dual front, side and curtain airbags, reverse parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, Pedestrian protection system, advanced ESC (electronic stability control), ABS, pull drift compensation, front seat belt pre-tensioners, hill launch assist, unique PCM and GT brake package.

Right now, Ford Mustang doesn’t have direct competitor as the Chevrolet Camaro is not on sale in India. Still at this price it will take on the likes of Audi TT and BMW Z4.
