To commemorate 20 wonderful years in India, the South Korean carmaker Hyundai has silently launched a special edition of its compact sedan Xcent. Badged as ‘20th Anniversary edition’ it will be available at mid-level S trim at a demanding price of Rs. 6.22 lakh for the petrol and Rs. 7.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel trim which is approximately 17,000 more than the standard variants.
Hyundai motors will only be producing 2400 units of this special edition which is available to buy via company’s dealerships across the country. For the extra bucks you spend, your car will be loaded with chrome packed front grille, side decals in red shade, a boot lid spoiler and anniversary badge at rear. The limited edition will be available in two exclusive color shades- Sleek Silver and Pure white.
Inside the cabin, updates are significant and adorned with a 6.2 inch Blaupunkt infotainment system with Aux-in, USB along with 2 DIN audio system. It also includes black and dual tone fabric upholstery.
The limited edition retains the similar powertrains of standard variants i.e. 1.2 l Kappa Petrol engine that develops 82bhp power and 114Nm of torque and a 1.1 l U2 CRDi diesel mill that churns out 69bhp of max power and 180Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are paired to a five speed manual gearbox only while the 4-speed AT won’t be the part of limited edition even as an option. The diesel variants deliver an impressive ARAI certified mileage of 24.4kmpl while petrol is good for 19.1 Kmpl.
Hyundai will be offering 20 percent cashback on ex-showroom price of limited edition to 20 lucky customers. The South Korean Giant would be equipping its entire line up with AMT (Automated manual transmission) by 2018.
