Bookings for Jaguar F-Pace to commence in India soon; launch next month

It’s raining SUVs in India; our country is flooded with sport utility vehicles which cover up the entry level segment to mid-premium and luxury grade. We had recently reported that Jaguar Land Rover will launch its first ever SUV ‘F-Pace’ in India in October 2016. A black F-Pace variant was recently spied at dealer stockyard and now we’ve reports which suggest that the booking for the SUV is all set to start this week.

The Booking amount is expected to stick around the Rs. 5 lakh mark with starting price at Rs. 85 lakh for the base variant while range topping trim is expected to cost around Rs. 1.15 crore (ex-showroom). At such premium price, it will lock its horns with BMW X6, Porsche Macan, Range Rover Evoque and Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe.

Going by the previous experiences with brand’s sedan model, F-Pace will be expected to deliver the similar outstanding performance. First showcased at Frankfurt motor show last year, the performance SUV underpinned the XE platform and more than 80 percent of its structure based on aluminium. Besides, Jaguar has adopted various other measures to keep in weight check like tailgate is made of composite material.

Coming to the design, the front fascia will give you homely feel with signature grille flanked by shiny headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. On the sides, the smooth line follow the across the length and meet the LED tail lamps at rear. Besides, F-Pace to come with 18 inch or 20 inch alloy wheels depending upon the variant you choose.

The features on board will be a 12.3 inch HD instrument panel, Incontrol touchscreen infotainment with pro navigation, sliding panoramic glass sunroof, Windsor leather upholstery, interior mood lighting, meridian sound system, dual zone climate control, three power sockets, push start button with keyless entry, 40/20/40 split foldable rear seats, cruise control, front-end parking sensors to name a few.

The Jaguar F-pace takes its juice from diesel engines only including 2.0l litre diesel and a more power 3.0 litre V6 oil burner. The former is good for 177bhp@4000rpm of max power and 430Nm of peak torque between 1750-2500rpm. The engine propels car to whack 0-100km/hr in 8.7 seconds with the top speed of 208kmph.

While the bigger engine belts out 296bhp@4000rpm of max power and 700Nm@2000rpm of gigantic torque. This mill helps SUV to hit a ton in just 6.2 seconds with the top speed of 241km/hr. Both the engines will be mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all wheels.
