The German luxury car manufacturer BMW has launched a limited edition of its 1-series model. This new limited edition is named as M Performance Edition. As per the company, only 111 units of it will be manufactured. This special edition is remained same from the mechanical front but there are some cosmetics changes have been done in it.

Price:

The M Performance edition of 1 series is available in total four variants, out of which three is of diesel and one is of petrol. While the petrol variant carries price tag of 22.65 lakhs, its three diesel trims come with the costs of 25.60 lakhs, 28.55 lakhs and 32.50 lakhs respectively.

Engine details:

As we mentioned above that there are no mechanical changes, the car is going to run with the same petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol mill is a 1.6 liter 4-cyl motor developing the max power and peak torque of 136bhp and 220Nm respectively, the diesel engine is a 2.0 liter 4-cyl turbo motor responsible to produce the max output of 143bhp and torque of 320Nm. The car is said to accelerate 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and offers claimed fuel efficiency of 20.58 km/l.

Interior & Exterior:

On the name of changes and modification in comparison to ongoing 1-series model, this limited edition gets sportier bumpers, rear spoiler with fins, black or white racing strips, black front grille and wordings of ‘M Performance’ for the side sills etc. These are the only renovation company has made in this special edition. Apart from this, the new variant is carrying the entire features of ongoing model.

CarZoom’s take:

BMW’s cars are always known for its luxurious nature and striking glimpse but the 1-series model is said to be an exception in that. The car carries not much impressive looks with much high price tags. This is the reason company has done some changes in its exterior profile to make it more attractive and hike its sale figures in India. Let’s see what will be the results now.
