The British luxury car maker, Bentley has announced the name of its first ever luxury SUV named Bentayga. Bentley revealed the name just after the announcement by Jaguar of upcoming SUV which is christened as ‘F-Pace’. Bentayga’s name seems to be inspired by company’s founder as well as by some natural world. The second half of the Bentayga is derived from ‘Taiga’ world’s largest snow forest at the upper latitudes of northern hemisphere and Roque Bentayga three mountain peaks at the island which contains a magical aura around it. According to Bentley some variants of Bentayga will cost more than Mulsanne so this SUV by Bentley is on the verge to be the most expensive SUV in the world which is in now entering into the final stage of testing. Bentayga was initially named as EXP-9F at the Geneva motor show in 2012 but that concept however faced criticism due to controversial design cues. Bentley’s Bentayga is expected to make its global debut this year at the 2015 Geneva motor show and will go on sale in early 2016. No technical information has been released yet but we expect Bentayga to get a flying Spur’s 4L V8 or twin turbo 6.0L W12 engine and Hybrid plug-in variant is also on the cards. Bentley has released a teaser video which shows the demo of Bentayga in red dunes of Dubai in 45 degree temperature showing it’s off road abilities. In terms of design Bentayga features continental like front grille, circular shaped headlamps and cabin will be equipped with premium leather, wood, metal and rich features. Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, says, “Bentayga is a name that reflects what we know our SUV will do better than any other car in the world – combine the best automotive luxury with outstanding performance to take the Bentley experience to new environments.” “This SUV is set to introduce Bentley’s renowned modern British luxury to limitless destinations with an impressive combination of on- and off-road performance.” “I promise this will be the fastest, the most luxurious and the most exclusive SUV in the world,” he added.
