Every year number of cars are get tested by the European’s new car assessment program famously known as EURO NCAP but in this test only few cars achieves highest safety scores. As the year goes the number of cars with great safety scores keep on reducing due to EURO NCAP’s improvement in its testing procedures, criteria’s.

EURO NCAP is basically an autonomous organization that executes crash tests on various new vehicles to check their safety standards based on the results of different categories of passenger protection criterion such as for adults and children, pedestrian protection and other safety support systems.

New Skoda Fabia has been awarded with highest rating of five stars by EURO NCAP in the all four above mentioned evaluation categories. Skoda Fabia was the only car among the 14 cars to get five stars in this crash test. Unfortunately, new Skoda Fabia might not come to Indian market in near future.

New Skoda Fabia was launched in November 2014 in selected European markets and now it is available in UK also. Skoda Fabia’s UK variant comes loaded with safety features like multi collision brake which reduces the risk crash due to collision on a road; it also comes with driver’s activist assistant/fatigue recognition system, speed limiter, hill hold control, electronic tyre pressure monitoring system, radar to keep in check the distance to the vehicle in front, six airbags, three pointer seat belts for all passengers etc.

In recent times many Indian cars like Swift, Datsun Go, Nano, Ford Figo and Alto failed miserably in NCAP crash test. As a result of it NCAP asks Datsun to withdraw Go hatchback from Indian roads. Indian Government has recently proposed features like ABS and Airbags to be compulsory on Indian cars and in near future we will see mandatory crash test for every Indian car.

Dr Frank Welsch, Skoda Board Member for Technical Development said, “With innovative safety systems and a comprehensive safety package, our new model is setting standards in its segment. Receiving the award for being the safest small car in the Euro NCAP crash tests confirms this once again,”
