In our last article ‘#Flashback: cars launched in March 2015’ we covered all the major launches and happenings in the Indian car sector, be it new launches or limited editions introduced in March 2015. Now we are bringing to you the all news related to upcoming cars of April 2015. Let’s go through to find out more.

1.  Renault Lodgy:

First launch of the month is expected to come from the French car maker Renault when they will launch Lodgy MPV to take on Segment leader Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio. The dealers across India have started accepting bookings for the same at a token amount of Rs. 50,000. Lodgy will be available in two seating configuration- 7 and 8 seater and it will launched in top variant only so expect high end features. 

Lodgy to be offered only in Diesel avatar right now and powering the MPV will be the 1.5L K9k diesel motor with 85PS and 110PS tunes. Dimension wise it might not be the biggest MPV in the segment but its longest wheelbase of 2810mm makes it the spacious MPV in the segment. From the outside it looks refreshing and in inside it boasts spacious cabin with healthy list of features.

Expected Launch: 2nd week

Estimated Price: Rs. 8-12 lakh

2.  Tata Safari Strome facelift:

Tata motors have been testing Safari Strome facelift since the inception of Zest sedan and everyone is eagerly waiting for its launch. It seems the wait might be over as a reliable source told us that Tata will launch Strome facelift in the second week of this month. Tata Safari Strome has been a dud seller for the company since its arrival in 2012, its chief rival Scorpio just got an update. 

Design wise new Safari will get a new honeycomb grille, VARICOR 400 badge and revised bumper while interior overhaul will remain same except a new Harmon Kardon audio system and automatic climate control. Major Highlight of new Safari will be the new and powerful VARICOR 400 engine developing 156PS power and 400Nm torque paired to a 5 speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Expected Launch: 2nd Week

Estimated Price: 10-13 lakh

 3. Audi TT Roadster:

Audi to launch 10 new models in 2015 and one of them would the iconic sports coupe Audi TT roadster slated to launch in April. It is a stunning looking car with many striking features like redesigned trapezoidal grille, LED headlights and futuristic looking cabin well complimented by build quality and ergonomics. Audi TT is powered by a 2.0L TFSI petrol engine that churns out 230PS power and can sprint 0-100 km marker in just 5.3 seconds. 

Expected Launch: Third Week

Estimated Price:  55-60 lakh 

4.  DC Avanti:

This month we might get to see India’s first true supercar being launched for which booking were already commenced quite a while ago. DC will produce only 500 units out of which 300 will be exported to other countries. With Dimensions of 4550×1965×1200mm it is slightly larger than Lamborghini Gallardo. The sports car would get 2.0L engine making 248bhp power and 360Nm of peak torque paired to a six speed manual transmission.

Expected Launch: Last week

Expected Price: Rs. 35-40 lakh 

5. Tata Nano AMT:

Riding high on the success Zest AMT and inspired by the success AMT cars in the Indian market. Tata motors is now planning to launch the AMT variant of Nano which is spied at the company’s Sanand plant suggests that it is ready to be dispatched to Tata dealers. 

Tata has made several changes at the outside and inside as well like it gets new front and rear bumpers, tweaked honeycomb grille, new fog lamps, Smoked headlamps. The tank capacity of Nano has been improved to 25 liters to improve the range of the car. Tata Nano AMT will become the cheapest price AMT car, when launched.

Expected Price: Rs. 2.50-2.90 lakh
