Toyota Motors post highest ever sales in July 2017

Toyota Motors concluded July 2017 on a high with its best ever sales Courtesy outstanding sales boost of Innova Crysta and Fortuner. Toyota has clocked 19743 units in July 2017 posting a tremendous growth of 43% compared to same month of the corresponding year. The brand has sold a total of 17,150 units in the domestic market while 1723 units were exported last month. The Fortuner SUV retailed over 3400 units in July 2017, highest ever since its launch.

Toyota has also sold 9300 units of Innova Crysta which also the highest by a decent margin. Post GST, the SUV or big cars such as Innova Crysta, Fortuner have become marginally affordable and Toyota decided to pass on the benefits to its customers by reducing the prices across its range.

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Innova Crysta is available in three engines– 2.4l (148bhp and243Nm), 2.7 litre petrol (164bhp and 250Nm), and 2.8 litre diesel (172bhp and 360Nm) engines. Transmission duties are taken care by a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the beast Toyota Fortuner is powered by 2.7l petrol (164bhp and 245Nm) and a 2.8l diesel engine (175bhp and 420Nm) linked to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Commenting on the monthly sales, Mr N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are thankful to the Government for the biggest indirect tax reform of the nation, which has helped us maintain the double digit growth this month. Last month, putting the dealers need ahead we had consciously taken the decision to lower the volumes of vehicles sold to the dealers. We wanted to ensure that there is a minimum burden on our dealer partners of any differential tax post GST. However, we are delighted that with dedicated efforts from all our stakeholders we have been able to achieve the milestone of best ever July sales.”
