Recently, Tata Motors introduces the CNG variants of its popular sedan Indigo and hatchback Indica and named them as Indigo eMAX and Indica eMAX. The both renovated variants will be available in two fuel engines though; CNG as well as petrol and one can grab these fuel efficient cars from the car market of six states in India i.e. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura. Both the cars are available in a single color, Mint White.

Price:

The Indigo as well as Indica both has two variants namely GLS & GLX. While the Indigo eMAX GLS has price tag of 4.99 lakhs and GLX of 5.27 lakhs, the Indica eMAX GLS and GLX have price range of 3.86 lakhs and 4.12 lakhs, respectively.

Engine:

Reportedly, Indigo eMAX as well as Indica eMAX, have same engines availability which is 1193cc, Bi-fuel CNG 1.2 L MPFI, BS4 engine. The max output produced by this powerful engine is 55.2bhp@ 5200rpm and 90Nm@ 2650rpm in CNG while 64.1bhp@ 5000rpm and 100Nm@ 2700rpm in petrol mated with 5-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The ARAI certified mileage offered by these new CNG models is 24.6km/kg (sedan) and 23.7 km/kg (hatchback).

Space & Dimension:

While both the cars are five seaters, their overall dimension differ coz one is sedan and other is hatchback. The Indigo eMAX is 3988mm in length, 1620mm in width, 1540mm in height with the ground clearance of 165mm and boot space of 150 liters. On the contrary, being a hatchback, Indica eMAX is comparatively smaller and having dimension of 3690mm*1665mm*1485mm along with the similar ground clearance of 165mm as its cousin sedan.

The CNG variants of both the cars have same fuel tank capacity of 60 liters, while the Indigo eMAX’s petrol has 42 liters of fuel tank and Indica eMAX’s petrol has 37 liters.

Also, the minimum turning radius is slightly different too as per their sizes i.e. 5m in sedan and 4.9 m in hatchback.

Interior, Exterior & Safety:

No major changes have been done in its interior as well as exterior including the safety features. Performance:

Being the eco-friendly models, these cars are expected to give an awesome performance on road with less fuel consumption. While the max range of Indigo eMAX is up to 230km (CNG) and 650km (petrol), the Indica eMAX has range of max 230km and 600km in CNG & petrol respectively. Ventilated disc brakes at front and drum brakes at rear are present in both the cars and assuring their controlled and safe driving.

Verdict:

Now-a-days, when fuel’s price is being increasing every day, the demand of CNG variants is going on high and people are preferring this fuel system coz it’s pocket friendly and perform wonderfully on road. And these new variants have comparatively less price tag too which is a bonus point and definitely company is going to get a huge profit by this appealing launch.
