The Czech auto major’s Indian arm has undertaken an initiative to give similar appearance to outlets of all its dealers across the country. Skoda doesn’t have many launches for India this year so they decided to improve the outlook and customer experience at dealerships. Skoda currently sells premium sedan Octavia, mid-sized Sedan Rapid, premium SUV Yeti and luxury sedan Superb in the Indian market.

Lately Skoda India was in news for bringing back the Skoda Fabia hatchback to India in the near future to increase the market share in the country. Skoda India discontinued the Fabia hatchback in 2013 due to poor sales performance in the country.

New GEN Skoda Fabia is 90mm wider, features 30mm lower roofline and 17 percent more fuel-efficient then discontinued model.

Skoda Auto India Regional Sales Manager (South and West), Mahesh Tiwari told PTI after unveiling the ‘Zeal’ Edition across all its models, that “We are doing the revamping exercise based on customer feedback. Irrespective of different locations, the outlet will be the same in appearance. It may be either in Mumbai or in Chennai; the outlet will be similar,”

Few days ago Zeal edition was launched available at Rs. 15000-25000 INR higher than the standard variants due to an additional package. Zeal addition comes with additional equipments like navigation device, rear camera, black dashboard and leather seats.

At present Skoda have 76 dealers in India and this change will immediately affect them all. Among four vehicles Rapid dominates around 75 percent of total sales. Skoda India plans to retail 20 percent more vehicles compared to last year. In the last calendar year company has retailed 15,500 units.

According to the company they have sold over 2.04 lakh units of all the models since November 2001 and in India major contributing region was the south India with 33% of total sales followed by West zone’s 31 percent and North with 30%.

Skoda also plans to launch new Skoda Superb in India in the first quarter of 2016.
