In a bid to push the sales higher of its dud selling MPV Lodgy, Renault has announced massive price cuts of the 85PS variants which are now cheaper by almost Rs. 1 lakh. The 110PS variant continues without any changes in the prices. Renault Sold 730 units of the MPV last month which is by far the highest since December 2015, so in order to boost the rising momentum Renault slashed the prices.
Its chief competitor Maruti Suzuki Ertiga comparatively doing well by retaining 4133 units last month while Honda Mobilio continues its drastic run with sales numbers stand at 126 units for May 2016. Ever Since Toyota launched Innova Crysta the trio of Lodgy, Ertiga and Mobilio there is a substantial deep in their sales volumes.
Launched in April last year, the MPV is available with 1.5l K9K diesel powertrain only which is offered in two states of tune- 85PS and 110PS. The former delivers 84bhp@3750rpm and 200Nm of torque@1900rpm while 110PS version churns belt out 108.5bhp@4000rpm of max power and 245Nm of high torque@1750rpm. Both the engines are paired to six speed manual gearbox sending power to front wheels. In terms of fuel efficiency, the 85PS delivers 21.04 KMPL while 110PS is good for 19.98 KMPL.

The price cut make it better value for money vehicle and with that company would be hoping to see increase in sales. However, slight reduction in prices of 110PS variant would have made it more desirable car.
