Nissan Terrano facelift to launch on 27th March in India

Indian arm of Japanese automaker Nissan has announced the launch of 2017 Terrano in India. Nissan has issued a Media invite for the official launch on 27th March 2017 and it is touted to be ‘Smarter and Bolder’ than before. The facelifted Terrano will have some mild cosmetic tweaks both inside and outside; however mechanical part will be untouched. Underpinning the same platform of Duster, Terrano has not been able to fetch good sales volumes.

Talking of the changes, 2017 Terrano will be seen with restyled headlights with LED DRLs, revised front grille, new front grille, and tweaked front bumper giving it some fresh look. Side and rear profile is similar to ongoing Terrano except for the new alloy wheels and revamped rear bumper.

To give interiors some sparkle Nissan has equipped with revised dashboard, automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, cruise control, new upholstery, reverse parking camera etc. New Terrano might come with dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) as standard across the range.

Under the hood, the engine line up of current Terrano likely to be retained. The 1.6l petrol engine develops 104PS of power and 145Nm of torque, linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5l diesel engine is offered in two states of tunes- 85PS and 200Nm and 110PS and 248Nm. The former is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while latter is available with a six speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

New changes might boost up prices of new Terrano; current range varies from Rs. 9.99-Rs. 13.95 lakh. Once launched, the competition will come from Honda BR-V, Mahindra Scorpio, Hyundai Creta, and Renault Duster.
