    Volkswagen Vento TSI

It was rumored that Volkswagen is not going to launch any new models until 2015, but the already existing cars will be refreshed regularly till then. This rumor seems to be correct now. After launching the refreshing version of VW Polo, the VW has launched the Vento TSI in the form of rejuvenation of VW Vento. A buyer will get six choices in aspect of its color i.e. Shadow Blue, Candy White, Pepper Grey, Terra Beige, Deep Black & Reflex Silver. The sales of the new Volkswagen Vento TSI will commence from 10th October 2013.

So here we bring a summary of its specifications for the admirers of VW.

    Price:

The price difference b/w Vento AT and Vento TSI is just of 18000 rupees. This upgraded version is launched at the price tag of 9.99 lakhs.

    Engine details:

In this innovation by VW, all the main changes have been done in its heart i.e. in engine. The Vento’s 1.6 liter petrol engine has been replaced by 1.2 liter 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine in Vento TSI.

The power produced by this updated sedan is same as previous one i.e. 105PS@ 5250rpm. But the observable fact here is, the torque of this sedan has been higher than the previous version, and it will offer now the peak torque of 175Nm instead of 153Nm, which definitely will improve the responsiveness and drivability. While the Vento offers the claimed mileage of 14.4kmpl, this replaced engine will offer 16.93kmpl(ARAI certified) which will make the engine more fuel efficient.

Not only this, the Vento’s 6-speed manual gearbox has been replaced too by the 7-speed, dual clutch DSG automatic gearbox, which is a wow…right??

    Space:

No changes have done in the dimensions and space availability at inside of this sedan. The dimensions are 4384mm*1699mm*1466mm with the ground clearance of 168mm. The seating capacity is five along with the boot space of 480 liters.

    Interiors & Exteriors:

Like the highline-Vento, this Vento TSI is also equipped with similar features and also with so many additional features. These are trunk brightness, interior trim by chromium, Central locking with remote control, 2-Din RCD 320 music system, Bluetooth, SD card and four speakers, “Climatronic” Auto AC with rear AC vents which will maintain the manually preset interior temperature of your car at your desired level, keyless entry(an automatic locking and starting system) and leather covered steering wheel, seats, gearshift knob etc. in inside.

On outside, the trunk as well as fog lights are enclosed with chrome. Also the presence of black finished halogen headlamps, electric mirrors increases its charm.

The other features of this updated version which makes it comfortable as well as appealing:

    – USB

    – Aux-in

    – ‘Lakeside’ 185/60 R15 alloy wheels- for improving the car’s handling (Vento AT has 14” alloy wheels).

    Safety:

This Vento TSI has all the safety features which a buyer wants; some of them are available in previous Vento (highline) while some are newly equipped in this version.

    The repeated features are:

    – Anti-lock braking system (ABS)– prevents the wheel from locking at the time of braking hard on a slippery road surface

    – Dual frontal airbags- driver and co-passenger side

    – Electronic engine immobilizer (an electronic anti-theft device) with floating code

While the newly equipped features are:

    – Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP) which detects critical handling situations to stop skidding before it begins.

    – Hill-hold function -it prevents your car from rolling back when pulling away on a slope or during a hill start.

    Verdict:

The company has done an innovation with its existing model and brings something which will be more appreciated by the buyers. VW is giving comparatively better torque as well as mileage, also along with additional premium features, these all just at price difference of Rs.18000 (when comparing with current Vento AT), what more could we expect?? This can be definitely a Diwali offer for all car buyers who are planning to buy one.

P.S: If VW Vento has come with modification then we can expect for Skoda Rapid to follow this tradition soon as Rapid is a stamp engineered version of Vento.
