As per company’s official website, Mercedes-Benz India has launched the diesel variant of its new S-Class today i.e. on 5th June. This diesel variant is named as S 350 CDI and assembled in India just like its sibling the S 500 (petrol). Company also has started to accept its bookings with the advance payment of 5 lakhs and deliveries are expected to be commenced from June end or in early July.
Price:
Company has priced this S-Class 350 CDI at 1.07 crores which is now making it the most affordable S-Class model.
Engine details:
Under the hood, it gets a 3.0 liter V6 diesel unit responsible to develop the max power of 254.79bhp and peak torque of 620Nm and mated to a Mercedes-Benz’s family based 7G-Tronic Plus 7-speed automatic transmission. This new S-Class 350 CDI diesel trim also gets Direct Select Lever with Paddle Shifters for rapid gear shifts and smooth operations.
As far as its acceleration is concerned, it reaches 0-100 km/h in mere 6.8 seconds with a top speed of 250km/h.
Road Safety:
It features an AIRMATIC suspension ensuring car’s smooth ride quality. On the grounds of safety, it gets active park assist, ESP with eight airbags, brake assist for better control during emergency braking, adaptive brakes with HOLD function, ASR and Hill Start Assist.
Space & Dimension:
The newly launched S350 CDI is same 5246mm long, 1899mm wide and 1494mm tall like its sibling and also carries wonderful wheelbase of 3165mm and car boot of 530 liters. However, fuel tank capacity of diesel version has been reduced by 10 liters and now it’s getting 70 liters of tank capacity instead of petrol version’s 80 liters.
Interior & Exterior:
To make the car refreshing, it features many demanding interior devices which include:
- Seven color ambient lighting along with choice of five dimming options
- Two 31.2 cm high resolution TFT screens
- Multifunctional two-spoke steering wheel
- Power packed hot stone massage function with six different programs along with choice of two intensities- low and high
- Rear seat backrest with a massage mat and 14 air chambers
- Remote for operating massage function
- A chauffeur package providing up to 77mm more rear leg room on the front passenger side with electrically extending footrest and easy adjustable luxury head restrains for driver and passenger
- LED headlamps
- Beautiful panoramic sunroof
