Mercedes Benz New C-Class

The German car manufacture Mercedes-Benz has launched the more powerful version of C-class sedan C250d in India at a sticker price of Rs. 44.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The C250d was awarded with car of the year award and will join the C220d, C200 and the powerhouse C63 in the lineup. The C class is a key product as it is one of the highest selling models for the carmaker.

Engine Details:

Being most powerful in its segment, it is powered by a 2143cc turbocharged engine which is good for 204bhp power@3800rpm and develops massive torque of 500Nm between 1600-1800rpm, linked to a first in segment 9G Tronic automatic transmission. The car is capable of making 0-100km sprint in just 6.6 seconds before clicking the electronically limited top speed of 247km/hr. Despite being so brisk, it can return an impressive fuel efficiency of 19.71 Kmpl (ARAI rated).

Space and Dimensions:

The newest member in the C class lineup is 4686mm long, 1810mm wide, 1442mm tall and has an impressive wheelbase of 2840mm. It offers a large cargo capacity of 480 liters.

Exterior and Interior:

In terms of design, it moreover remains same to standard C class except for the new intelligent LED lighting system which automatically adjusts the intensity of lights analyzing the weather, driving conditions.  The C250d also sports new 17 inch twin spoke alloy wheels. The cabin continues to look elegant as before with 7 inch multimedia touchscreen with Garmin MAP pilot, SD card support, voice recognition and instrument cluster guidance.

It also features audio 20 with touchpad controller, LED ambient lighting with five dimming levels and three color choices- Neutral white, polar ice blue and Solar amber. Alongside these add-ons it continues to boasts of range of upholstery options, two zone THERMATIC automatic climate control, cobra look front seats, dynamic select with five driving modes– Eco, comfort, Sport, Sport+ and individual etc.

Colors:

The luxury comes in seven paint schemes which include citrine brown, tenorite grey, Obsidian black, Cavansite blue, Iridium Silver and Polar white (non metallic).

Safety:

The Mercedes-Benz C250d is packed to the brink of latest safety elements such as adaptive high beam assist, attention assist which warns the driver by analyzing the driving and steering behavior. You also get reverse parking camera with 180 degree view, active parking assist with PARKTRONIC, pre-safe system, hill start assist alongside standard features seven airbags, ABS, EBD, ASR, ESP, BAS and Neck pro head restraints to safeguard passengers from critical situations.
