    Due to the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2014, the car makers seem busy in doing their final preparations to make it a remarkable one for themselves. In this queue, the next name is of the Germany luxury car maker, BMW which is all set to launch its sporty supercar i8 hybrid in the Indian car market. If reports are to be believed, the company has allotted just 8 units of this sportier car for India which could be delivered to its customers only by the end of 2014 or early 2015.

    Price:

    BMW is claiming this sporty car to be a most expensive BMW model in India. It is expected to be launched with the price tag of around 1.5 Crore.

    Engine & Performance:

    Being a hybrid version, it is well armed with a petrol-electric engine and has tendency to deliver a highline and sporty performance on road with the impressive fuel efficiency. The available 1.5 liter 3-cylinder petrol engine churns out the max output of 231bhp and 320Nm, while the electric motor is expected to produce the max power of 131bhp. This hybrid engine ensures to provide typical BMW driving pleasure on combining the max output of electro-petrol engine.

    The i8 hybrid is designed with light-weighted aluminum which assists this dashing car to achieve 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds with the top speed of 250 km/h. Though, this figure is according to the global BMW i8 hybrid model and thus, could be changed according to India’s circumstances.

    Interior & Exterior:

    BMW i8 is that supercar which carries an eye-catching glimpse with its long wheelbase, flat double kidney grille, low and wide front, V-shaped ‘black belt’ from the bonnet goes to the rear by wrapping around the body-shell and LED light design with laser light etc. Also, the scissor doors which swing upwards when opened is complimenting its already awesome look.

    The luxuriant continues even at inside the cabin and gives a premium feel on sitting in it. The exact feature list could be availed by the launch but it is expected to have the entire luxury features which would properly justify the badge of BMW.

    BMW i8 hybrid is similar model of the car which we have seen driving by Tom Cruise in a famous Hollywood movie ‘Mission Impossible 4’. There are a separate fans or customers of such types of high performing sporty cars and BMW aims to target those ones. Though, it is a well planned strategy which would manage to maintain BMW’s position in market but there are rivals too like Audi, Mercedes etc. It would be interesting to see how much appreciation this car could get by its Indian lovers.
