BMW Group India today on 23rd July 2014 launched its hybrid petrol-electric limousine in Gurgaon, India. This hybrid model is named as BMW ActiveHybrid 7. Company had introduced it globally at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. In India, it will be imported via CBU (completely built unit) route.

Price:

The company has priced its hybrid car at whooping tag of 1.35 crore.

Engine details:

It is equipped with a petrol unit as well as an electric motor. The petrol unit is a 3.0 liter in-line six cylinder twin turbo motor producing max output and peak torque of 320bhp and 450Nm respectively. This petrol motor is getting support of an electric motor deriving an additional power and torque of 54bhp and 50Nm respectively. The car is mated to an 8-speed steptronic automatic transmission gearbox.

The hybrid car will offer claimed fuel efficiency of 13.85 km/l and can accelerate 0-100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds with the electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

This newly launched ActiveHybrid 7 will join the BMW’s 7-series line up which includes 730 Ld, 740 Li, 750 Li and the top-end 760 Li.

Space & Dimension:

The ActiveHybrid will offer seating capacity for five passengers and carries length of 5079mm, width of 1902mm and height of 1471mm. Further, the wheelbase length is of wonderful 3070mm, ground clearance is 152mm and boot capacity is of 360 liters.

Interior & Exterior:

At inside cabin, the car is sharing entire features range of ongoing 7-series line up including keyless entry, four-zone climatronic control, premium leather upholstery, a sound system with10 speakers & satellite radio and USB/iPod connectivity etc. This hybrid model also come equipped with features like auxiliary fuel saving measures like auto start-stop, brake energy recuperation system and ECO PRO driving mode with coasting function.

However, this hybrid model is getting the same exterior profile as its other 7-series sedan models but it’s also getting ‘ActiveHybrid’ badges all around the car making it different than other 7-series cars. Apart from that, it gets LED headlights with chrome accents, large air vents in the lower bumper etc.
