In 2013, company had discontinued its E-Class convertible E350 from Indian auto market due to some reasons but now the increasing demand of premium cars in country has forced the Mercedes-Benz to bring its next generation convertible once again. Currently, in India, only a sedan is available in its E-Class line up.

Note: The mentioned facts here are yet to be confirmed by the company and hence could be changed by the launch.

Price:

However, no reports regarding its price have been released by company yet but rumors are saying that this E400 will carry the price tag of around 80 lakhs.

Engine details:

The 2014 E-Class E400 convertible will be powered by a powerful 3.0 litre V6 engine responsible to develop the max power of 330bhp and peak torque of 480Nm. The engine will be geared up with 7G-Tronic Plus 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. This sporty car will be capable to accelerate 0-100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds with 250 km/h of electronically limited top speed.

Interior & Exterior:

This E-Class convertible will share the entire features range of ongoing E-Class sedan like ambient lighting with 5 stage intensity control, direct control steering with speed sensitivity, trip computer in multi function display, separate air vents for rear passengers and many more along with some newly introduced features probably. Similarly, at exterior, apart from a convertible body, the car might get sportier bumpers, refined lines and large 18-inch wheels etc.

CarZoom’s take:

The last generation E-Class convertible was one of the best convertibles in Indian car market till the time company discontinued it in last year 2013. It had created new benchmarks for this German car manufacturer and now when company is bringing its next gen model, expectations definitely increases which we hope Mercedes-Benz will fulfill too. Till then, keep your fingers crossed.
