If reports emerging on the web are true Maruti Suzuki India has registered the name Vitara Brezza for its upcoming compact SUV which is codenamed as YBA. Maruti Suzuki has long line-up of products in the country including sedans, hatchbacks, MPV but MSIL doesn’t have any vehicle in compact SUV segment. Many other car makers have already their products and enjoying great amount of success as well.

We are hearing about Maruti’s compact SUV for ages now and whenever there is news about YBA (XA-Alpha), first question that comes in mind-When it will be launched?. Maruti has showcased this compact SUV XA-alpha concept in 2012 auto expo and since then it has taken the company to bring it to the practicality.

YBA (Vitara Brezza) will be a smaller sibling of Vitara so it is expected to be powered by a tried and tested 1.3L DDis fiat sourced diesel engine and would be available in five variants L, V, V+, Z and Z+. Maruti might also bring YBA with bigger 1.5L motor which is expected to produce 100bhp power and AWD could be on the cards.

Some of the features available on YBA compact SUV will be touch screen infotainment system, ABS, airbags, keyless entry, reverse parking camera, start/stop button and many more.

YBA compact SUV will lock its horns with Ford Eco Sport, Nissan Terrano and upcoming Mahindra U301. It is expected to be price between 7 to 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Performance of Grand Vitara has been a disappointment for Maruti and was a dud seller in the segment.

So we expect Maruti to place this compact SUV smartly and will be launched around February next year and showcase at the Indian auto expo 2016 could also be expected.

Maruti will also launch SX4 S-cross in the coming months and will be pitted against Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 active etc. Sx4 S cross will be available in five variants as well with twp fuel options- Petrol and diesel.

Mechanically it is expected to get power from 1.3L diesel and 1-4L K series petrol engines and might be launched during the festive season. Both these cars will certainly add more value to the competition.
