Maruti S-Cross facelift likely to launch in India near Diwali

Maruti Suzuki marked the commencement of its premium Nexa dealerships with the launch of S-cross crossover in 2015. The premium crossover may not have won hearts but grabbed the eyeballs thanks to powerful 1.6l diesel engine. Maruti is planning to replace the dud sell version of the car with a mid cycle facelift soon. According to reports, 2017 S-Cross would be launched in India by Diwali this year. Besides, Maruti is also looking to launch two new models by next financial year.

The new version will bring some subjective cosmetic changes which are limited to front fascia. Starting with, there is a new front chrome grille with vertical slats, new projector headlights with LED Daytime running lights, and revised front bumper with larger radiator grille. Side profile will remain same except for the new set of alloy wheels while rear would flaunt tweaked tail lights along with revamped bumper.

On the inside, the facelift is likely to feature fresh seat upholstery, updated instrument cluster with new MID, new ambient color combinations, Smartplay infotainment system with Apple car play, Android auto and Smartphone navigation. Rest of the features such as automatic climate control, leather upholstery, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, rear seat split and leather upholstery will be available as standard across the range.

The engine options include a 1.3l DDis diesel engine delivering 89bhp power and 200Nm of high torque. The other one is a bigger 1.6l DDis engine that makes 118bhp power and 320Nm of torque. The transmission segment is taken care by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 6-speed automatic unit.

The pricing factor will play a very crucial role based on new updates, 2017 S-Cross is likely to be priced higher the current model in the price range of 8.5-12 lakh (ex-showroom).
