Finally the second generation of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV has been launched in India. The SUV comes as the top spec version of the new G-Class that was upgraded last year and was earlier introduced in 1979 mainly for militant applications. The car is the best for long trips and off-roaders and its performance and credibility in un-matchable by other SUV’s. Here we bring the detailed features that the Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV comes with.

Exterior and Interior

The G 63 gets AMG-specific trim like an AMG-specific front apron and Panamerica radiator trim, new AMG specific side skirts, 20-inch AMG wheels and wheel arches. There are also brakes with red callipers and chromed side-mounted exhaust pipes. On the interior, it gets AMG treatment with a new instrument cluster, quilted seats and contrast stitching. There is also wheel finished in carbon-fibre, paddle shifter, a wheel centering marker etc. Lastly there is larger cabin space, MBUX infotainment system and better overall refinement of the new G-Class remain intact. There is a larger ventilated and perforated brake disc as well as new exhaust system.

Engine Details

Under the hood there is 4.0-litre twin-turbo AMG motor that makes 585PS power and 850 Nm torque. The SUV takes up from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.5s and goes on to an electronically limited top speed of 220 kmph. This also increases to 240 kmph when there is the optional AMG Driver’s package. This motor is mated to a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car’s ride control drive mode has been reworked with new componentry.

The price for the 2019 Mercedes-AMG G 63 SUV in India is 2.19 crore (ex-showroom India).
