India’s First Home-Grown Supercar DC Avanti to Launch on 15 April 2015

DC Avanti will be making its official launch on 15 April 2015 finally and will be made to order. DC, the automotive design firm will produce only 500 units in its first batch that already has been booked at the price around Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom). DC Avanti was first showcased at 2012 auto expo and then at 2014 Auto expo production version of Avanti was unveiled.

DC Avanti is India’s first home grown supercar and its test mules were seen several times on Indian roads. DC design has been equally liked and criticized over the years but the new design will surely grow over the enthusiast.

In the heart Avanti features a Renault sourced 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine that dishes out 250bhp power@5500rpm and 360Nm of peak torque@2700-3500rpm with power sent to rear wheels via a 6 speed manual transmission only and it does a 0-100km sprint in sub 8 seconds with the electronically limited speed of 200km/hr. Avanti rides on 20 inch alloy wheels with 255/35 tyres at front and 295/30 tyres at rear while braking duties executed by 330mm discs at front and 295mm at rear.

DC Avanti has been specially designed for Indian roads with measurements of 4623mm in length, 1967mm width, 1213mm height and has a wheelbase of 2700mm. The Supercar comes with a kerb weight of 1532 kgs and apt ground clearance of 170mm.

The exterior of DC Avanti will sport Bi-xenon headlights, sloping roofline, low slung design, distinct rear profile, 10 exterior color shade options and to add more magnetism DC to offer 28 accessories from Rs. 18,000-3 lakh.

Inside the cabin the Avanti has a three spoke steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, central console with multiple screens, reverse camera, hooded dials, soft touch buttons for air conditioning and lots of body colored and chrome touch all around the cabin.

DC will be offering Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic brake distribution (EBD) and two airbags as standard safety features. DC designs has already sold out the first batch of 500 units and if you didn’t get the chance to book DC Avanti this time then wait for the next batch which will be available in next five to six months and DC is also planning to produce 2000 units in next two years.
