Hyundai might launch facelift i20 on 15th August

Hyundai’s popular model and India’s one of the quite appealing hatchbacks i20 is being refreshed and getting a 2014 glimpse. The car is said to make its global debut in upcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. But the good news is, after seeing India’s trending and demanding market of hatchbacks, company might launch this facelift model even before its global debut. The all-new 2014 Hyundai i20 is said to hit the floor on 15th of August 2014 in India.

The price range will be revealed by the launch though but a slight hike in price might occur, this new 2014 version of i20 is expected to be priced between 6-9 lakhs.

The engines equipment is going to be the same as predecessor, reportedly. There will be a 1.2 liter Kappa petrol mill developing the max power and torque of 82.8bhp and 113.7Nm respectively. This petrol engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission along with a 4-speed automatic as optional. On the other side, the diesel engine is of 1.4 liter which derives 88.7bhp and 220Nm of max output and torque respectively and geared up with a 6-speed manual transmission.

There will also be some cosmetic changes for sure but detailed report regarding same is yet to disclose by the company.

In India, the Hyundai i20 will compete with other ongoing popular hatchbacks like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo etc and also with some awaited upcoming models like Honda Jazz and Tata Bolt etc.

The reports are also saying that company is in process to clear the stocks of existing i20 hatch so that new i20 can find place here in market. Hyundai is offering discount of Rs. 19,000 on ongoing i20’s top-end Asta diesel variant and a discount of Rs. 22,000 on its petrol Asta trim. Additionally, company is also providing a holiday package for a couple worth Rs. 71,000 including free air-tickets and stay at a wonderful location.
