Fiat India is gearing up for Abarth Performance oriented variants of Avventura and EVO in 2015, according to reliable sources the launch will take place in third quarter of 2015 and it will affordably price at Rs. 9 lakh. Fiat India launched Punto EVO hatchback and EVO based Crossover this year which is receiving more than decent amount of bookings. Abarth EVO and Abarth Avventura will be the more powerful version of EVO and Avventura.

Abarth brand has huge fan following in India so company wants to capitalize on it with more powerful and performance engines. Fiat India will launch the Abarth Competizione in January 2015 which will be the limited edition and the fastest hatchback in the country when launched. Currently Punto EVO sells in 67bhp and 89bhp engines while Avventura gets 89bhp power trains which are comparatively underpowered.

But EVO Abarth and Avventura Abarth will be propelled with a 1.4L T-jet multi Air petrol engine which is able to produce 133bhp power@6000rpm and 206Nm of peak torque@1750rpm. This box can accelerate 0-100 km in just 8.5 seconds with the top speed of 195 km/hr.

In international markets this engine develops 155ps power plus it has one SS variant which develops 180PS power but India based model will only get the 133bhp variant and both EVO Abarth and Avventura Abarth will be sold under Abarth nameplate.

No other mechanical changes are expected in both the variants, however there will some cosmetic changes like new alloy wheels, Abarth badging and internally it might get sporty seats and metallic inserts etc.

According to insider sources Avventura is being held back by Fiat due to engine mount failures, this problem has been reported in diesel variants only not with any petrol model yet. Avventura was launched about 2 months ago and still it is rarest car on road and we are still waiting to see it on roads despite of getting hefty amount of bookings. Current diesel engine in Avventura is said to be too weak to handle a harsh potholes.

Fiat had tested Avventura for two months before its official launch, so what they were testing all that time? Other reason of delayed deliveries might be that Fiat didn’t want to make 2014 make models as the year change will force them to offer discounts on these models.

Punto EVO and Avventura are impressive cars with great build quality, design, safety features and Price but only problem they have is the lack of power. But this might not be the case with Abarth EVO and Avventura as they both pretty logically fulfills that issue which prevails in their siblings.
