Fiat Avventura Urban Cross View

Made its debut at 2016 Auto Expo, Fiat Avventura Urban cross has been officially landed on the Indian shores at an introductory price of Rs. 6.85 lakh and goes all the way to Rs. 9.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is a crossover version of Avventura which was launched in 2014, and it is available in petrol and diesel engines. Fiat has already accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs. 21,000 while deliveries will begin from 1st October 2016. In spite of great cars with good mixture of practicality, performance and decent aesthetics, Fiat hasn’t been a mass favorite. Can Avventura Urban Cross break the jinx? Let the time decide.

Price:

Here is the variant wise (ex-showroom Delhi) pricing of Fiat Avventura Urban cross:-

  • 1.3 litre Multijet diesel Active- Rs. 6,85,000
  • 1.3l Multijet diesel Dynamic- Rs. 7,45,000
  • 1.4 litre T-Jet petrol Emotion- Rs. 9,85,000

Engine Details:

The Fiat Avventura Urban Cross is available in three grades- Active, Dynamic and Emotion, first two available with diesel trim while Emotion is offered in petrol engine only. Coming to the powertrains, a 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine that makes 92bhp@4000rpm and peak torque of 209Nm@2000rpm whereas the Abarth inspired a 1.4 litre turbocharged T-Jet petrol engine is good for 138bhp@5500rpm of max power and 210Nm of torque between 2000-4000rpm.

Both the engines are coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission only and Fiat seems to miss the trick by not offering AT or AMT gearbox. The oil burner is claimed to deliver an ARAI rated mileage of 20 Kmpl while the turbocharged petrol mill is good for 17.1 Kmpl.

Space and Dimensions:

In terms of dimensions, the crossover measures 3989mm in length, 1706mm in width, 1542mm in height and rides on the wheelbase of 2510mm. It has the same ground clearance of 205mm as standard Avventura crossover.

Exterior and Interior:

On the aesthetic front, urban cross comes with some changes that differentiate it from the standard Avventura like piano black finish front grille, new sweptback LED follow me headlights, new dual tone front and rear bumpers with skid plates. Other embellishments include bigger roof rails, new 16 inches scorpion alloy wheels, body color door handles, thick side body cladding, integrated ORVMs with turn blinkers, floating roof spoiler, vertically positioned taillights.

Inside the crossover, it is similar story to standard Fiat Avventura like foldable key with boot release, front power windows with auto down & delay function, rear seat 60:40 spilt, rear Ac vents, dual tone dashboard with soft touch panel, leather packed steering wheel and gear knob, automatic climate control, 12 V power socket etc. There is MID (Multi-function information display) that displays useful information like outside temperature display, distance to empty, real time mileage indicator, digital odometer and much more.

Fiat is also offering a 5 inch Smart tech touchscreen display with navigation, SD card, Aux-in and bluetooth audio streaming support. As a part of introductory offer the urban cross will get burgundy designer interior with black door armrests, dual shade seats with urban cross embedded on it and color synchronized door inserts. You can also opt for designer package which is available with petrol and top spec diesel grades.

Colors:

Fiat Avventura Urban Cross is making its presence in six exterior colors- Hiphop black, Bronzo Tan, Bossanova white, Exotica red, Magnesio grey and Minimal Grey.

Safety:

As for the safety, it gets anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) standard across the range along with other optional features like dual front airbags with early crash sensors, immobilizer with rolling code, fire prevention system (FPS), central door locking, door open indicator and 3-point ELR seat belts with load limiters and pretensioners.
