Chevrolet Cruze - User Review

Chevrolet is one of that brands which is ruling worldwide from many years. But the question arises here, is Chevrolet and its cars successful in India too??? Well, can’t say about all the cars of Chevrolet but for Cruze, definitely goes a full approval…!!!!

The Cruze is most popular car of brand Chevrolet and ruling among Indians since its launch in 2009. The renovated version of this sedan was launched in June 2012 with much improved features. But, are the Cruze’s buyers satisfied from this car??? Lets discuss:

User’s Review:

When we took feedback from users who had already bought it, the very first thing came up was their satisfaction about this jazzy mid-sized sedan. They were happy with the exterior look, mileage capacity, availability of various interior features etc. Though there was such users too who had issues with some of the interior features and the price range. They also mentioned about the poor, still costly after-sale services of Chevrolet’s cars.

On the contrary, the users who were fully satisfied with the Chevrolet Cruze thought that this car is getting some negative reviews just because of the GM (General Motors)/Chevrolet name attached to it; otherwise Cruze is an excellent choice.

But this ratio of satisfaction and dissatisfaction is 80:20.

Interiors:

In interiors, most of the users were convinced with the various given features in Cruze. According to them, this sedan is fully equipped with all the essential as well as royal features and gives a complete feel of a premium car. But some were disappointed too with the cramped space inside this car in comparison to other cars in same segment, and also with some features like safety airbags which don’t work properly.

The interior features of Cruze which satisfied and pleased the buyers are:

  • 3-spoke leather covered electric power steering wheels with tilt function and also leather covered gear knob
  • Front and rear reading lamps
  • Auto AC with heater
  • Power windows
  • Central locking
  • Keyless entry: an automatic locking and starting system
  • Dead pedal: acts as a foot rest for the left foot, for the comfort of the driver
  • Engine start/stop button
  • CD/MP3 radio with speakers
  • 6 ways adjustable electric driver’s seat

After adding Rs. 90000 in the price of Cruze LT, we can get its LTZ variant which has many additional premium features:

  • Sunroof: allows light/or fresh air to enter the passenger compartment
  • Leather upholstery
  • Rear parking assist
  • Auto rain sensing wipers
  • Cruise control: automatically controls the speed of vehicle
  • Bluetooth
  • Auto dimming inside mirror

Exterior:

It has observed that Cruze’s exterior look is that top most feature which influenced most of the users; they all were completely pleased and glad with its royal and trendy glimpse. According to them, the Cruze has bold dynamism of form, aggressive stance, muscular shoulders and taut styling crease lines. The long lasting impression of this mid-sized sedan makes it one of the best luxury cars (in its segment) in India.

Road handling & safety:

As discussed above that safety airbags don’t work properly otherwise the type of engine availability and the mileage of around 10.7kmpl (city roads) and 14.5kmpl (highways) surely impressed the users. The ARAI certified mileage of Cruze is 17.3kmpl. The car has turning radius of 5.4m which definitely will help on city roads and overall the Cruze maintains to have a comfortable and safe ride. The accelerator performs well with the availability of max torque as well as power. Also, by giving the performance of0-100km in just 9.8s, this mid-sized sedan has become the most powerful diesel car in its segment.

Price:

The users seem to be a little bit disappointed here in aspect of price. According to them, the price range could be less. There were some users who had taken the test ride of this car but couldn’t buy because of its high rates. The Cruze comes at a price tag of 13.88 to 15.97 lakhs (depends upon its variants).

Car Zoom’s take:

If you want a car which falls under the sedan (mid-sized) category and gives you a premium feel and also you are ready to spend a little bit more for that, then surely the Cruze will be best for you. As we feel, the only drawback of this car is its poor after-sale services given by the company; otherwise this car is packed with all that things which a buyer wants.
